MARTU FREEMAN-PARKER

Martu E. Freeman-Parker brings over 25 years of experience in the fashion industry. She holds a BA in Fashion Merchandising/Consumer Services from Norfolk State University. After relocating to New York City, she gained extensive experience working with top apparel companies, holding freelance roles such as Assistant Production Manager, Merchandising Assistant, Fabric R&D Specialist, and Pre-Production Manager. Her career spans industry leaders, including Polo Ralph Lauren, The Limited, Victoria’s Secret Catalogue, Polo Jeans, Calvin Klein Jeans, Gap Inc., Carter’s, and Condé Nast Publications.

Martu also held permanent positions at well-known brands. She served as Production Assistant for Women’s Sweaters and Swimwear at J.Crew, Pre-Production Manager for Women’s Knits at American Eagle Outfitters, and Design Coordinator for the Men’s Department at Urban Outfitters in Philadelphia.

Currently based in Miami, Florida, Martu runs M.E.F. Productions LLC, an apparel consulting business providing services in design coaching, line development, brand management, and fashion business workshops. She is the Founder & Host of Fashion TALKS Miami, a monthly networking event for Miami’s local fashion community. In 2018, she published her first book, “Get the Hell Out.”

From 2021 to 2024, Martu served as the Managing Director of Mana Fashion Services, part of Mana Common in Miami. She currently sits on the Executive Board of Directors for the Miami Downtown Development Authority, Fashion Group International South Florida, the Fashion Merchandising Program at St. Thomas University, and the Miami Dade College Fashion Institute.
